SITES & ACTIVITES
Chattanooga, Tennessee, is set along the Tennessee River at the base of the Appalachian Mountains and the well known Lookout Mountain, home of the Incline Railway climbing to the top of the mountain, Ruby Falls, and Rock City, featuring breathe taking views, and gardens. Point Park, a site of battle in the Civil War is also on top of Lookout Mountain. Visit Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, located in northern Georgia and eastern Tennessee, it preserves the sites of two major battles of the American Civil War.
Downtown Chattanooga has become a model for the all-major industrial cities on just how to reestablish a vibrant living and shopping capital. Coolidge Park on the North Shore at the foot of the walking bridge offers a unique downtown experience with arts, food, kids venues, and entertainment. The Chattanooga Choo Choo gives people a visual history of the railroad era. Also the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum not only enhances that era, but also offers daily rides. Walnut Street Bridge built in 1891 and the Bluff View Art District for galleries and cafes. The Tennessee Aquarium offers two massive building and is the world’s largest fresh water Aquarium. The Chattanooga River Walk travels for miles and winds it’s way from the one of TVA’s largest hydropower dams Chickamauga to downtown and beyond. This journey is popular with bikers and joggers.
Chattanooga is also premiere destination for hang gliding off of Lookout Mountain as well as one the countries best known rock climbing walls. Lake Guntersville, Lake Nickajack and Lake Chickmauga are well known for tournament bass fishing.
